Whether you own a cat or a dog, it goes without saying that it’s your duty to ensure that they are 100% happy, 100% of the time.

Unfortunately, the novelty of a pet can quickly wear off for some people, and this is when problems can start to occur.

There are many very important aspects of looking after cats and dogs which need to be properly addressed, and even though they are the most commonly kept pets in the UK, the lack of knowledge of some pet owners is simply alarming.

The dietary requirements of your pet is one of the most vital things which needs to be taken into consideration, and whilst there are many different brands and types of foods for both cats and dogs, if you’re unsure of what you should be looking for, seek advice from a vet.

Ensuring that your pet has a comfortable place in which to rest is also essential, and there are lots of beds for cats and dogs which can be picked up really cheaply nowadays.

Pet toys can also help to keep your cat or dog occupied- particularly younger canine chums or feline friends- and again, these can be snapped up very affordably.

Remember, unlike Christmas cards, a pet is for life- not just for Christmas.
